
Hollymatic: The Early Years
Hollymatic Corporation was founded in the 1930s by iron worker Harry Holly, who opened a small hamburger shop with his wife after being laid off from his job. The company went on to play a significant role in the creation of the hamburger as a fast-food staple. Holly designed the patty machine to shorten the time it took to mold hamburger patties by hand. The machine also produced consistent patties, which solved the overcooking and undercooking problems associated with irregular-sized patties.
Hollymatic Today
Hollymatic continues to grow by adding and updating features to the original line of products. It no longer serves fast-food giants like McDonald’s and Burger King, which have opted to serve frozen patties. Instead, the company caters to smaller restaurants and butcher shops who choose to make their hamburger patties fresh and in-house. Current Hollymatic research and development focuses on making the machines digitally accessible. This is done by replacing traditional dials and push buttons with touchscreen controls. The updated Hollymatic Super Patty Machine has become the company’s bestseller. The Hollymatic Patty Machine is compact enough to fit on a countertop. It can produce patties up to 8 oz. in weight and up to 3/4” thick. Reliable portioning controls enable the machine to produce 2,100 hamburger patties every hour. Designed with simple operating procedures, ground meat is fed through a large top-loading hopper and molded into patties. The finished patties come out from the bottom and are stacked automatically. The Super Patty Machine will also slide a piece of waxed paper between each patty. The Super Patty Machine is safety-interlocked to meet the highest safety standards. Its one-tool disassemble feature ensures fast and easy cleanups every time.Optional Features
There are many optional features designed for the Hollymatic Super Patty Machine to choose from. The Super Patty Machine comes in a metal or plastic finish. The patty mold can also be changed easily, with a variety of shapes to choose from. Clients who order the Super Patty Machine can also choose to add a stainless steel stand with casters, or a neoprene or wire mesh conveyor belt to move the finished patties.Roto-Flow
Hollymatic has left the look of the Super Patty Machine relatively unchanged since it was first designed, except for the addition of several safety features. Recently, though, a system called Roto-Flow has been added. This is a system that adds air pockets to the ground meat being fed into the machine, resulting in hamburger patties that cook faster and are tender.
