Founded in 1902, The Manitowoc company manufactures capital goods across three different industries. Its products are used in the cranes, food service and marine sectors. In 2003, the company’s food service equipment accounted for 29% of its total revenue. This was split between the divisions of Manitowoc Beverage and Manitowoc Ice.

Manitowoc Beverage Systems division was created in 1999. It has since become a leading manufacturer of commercial beverage solutions. This was accomplished by Manitowoc through the acquisition of five large beverage distributors. Three of the most popular beverage brands acquired by Manitowoc after the merge include McCann’s, Servend and Multiplex. The three companies continue to service Manitowoc Beverage Systems by offering a variety of products ranging from beverage and ice dispensers to carbonators. Servend

Servend was founded in the 1980s as a manufacturing company. It quickly grew from three employees to 200 employees over the course of 20 years. The company space has also expanded from a private garage to a 155,000-square-feet manufacturing facility. Servend went on to patent a U-shaped bin liner and paddle wheel, which revolutionized the beverage systems industry. These inventions helped maximize the ice storage and delivery, while at the same time, it minimized ice waste and spillage.

Multiplex

Multiplex manufactures soda and beer dispensing systems that are durable and high-capacity. Its customers include fast food restaurants, theaters, convenience stores and small diners. Multiplex products help businesses by providing solutions to dispensing drinks without the need to hire extra employees. The products are also designed to last over ten years, which is twice as long as the industry average.

Multiplex Draught Arms

The company operates on a vertical integration process where the company chooses raw materials to create the best drink dispensers. McCann’s has also become an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of carbonation equipment.

McCann’s Carbonators

Carbonators are an essential to any fast food restaurant, as they work to maintain the fizz inside all soft drinks. McCann's makes two distinct types of carbonators. They are the 43 Series Carbonators and the Carb-in-a-Box Carbonators. All McCann’s carbonators have two sets of valve systems. One of the valves works as the primary valve, while the other serves as a backup in case the primary system fails. This is to prevent any pressure from building up and the system becoming bloated with unwanted gas pressure. Each carbonator also features a Diamond Brite Tank with a five-year warranty, an encapsulated electronics package, heat sink probe cap and in-line cold carb recirculation. All carbonators can withstand working pressures from 10 to 200 psi and temperatures to up 130 degrees.
